Privacy Policy

1. Introduction

This Privacy Policy explains how GOJO handles information in connection with the GOJO Parent App. The Parent App helps authorized parents and guardians access school-connected information about their linked children, including items such as announcements, attendance, class marks, calendar information, payment history, and messages where those features are enabled by the school.

2. Who Provides the Service

The Parent App is part of the GOJO Education platform. Some information is provided by participating schools or authorized school staff, and some account information may be managed through GOJO systems used to operate the app.

3. Information We Process

Based on the Parent App source and configuration available for review, the app may process:

• Parent or guardian account information, including name, username or parent code, phone number, email address, role, school relationship, account status, and authentication information.
• Optional parent profile details that a parent may add or update, such as profile photo, job, age, city, citizenship, address, and bio.
• Student information connected to the parent or guardian relationship, including student name, student code, grade, section, profile image, attendance, class marks, rank, calendar context, and payment history.
• School information, including school identifiers, school name, school relationship, grade and section information, teacher or staff names, and school announcements.
• Communication information, including chat contacts, message text, message status, timestamps, unread counts, edited/deleted message state, and media URLs when image or file messages are used.
• Media selected by the user, such as a parent profile photo or chat image, when the user chooses to upload or save media.
• Basic technical information needed for login, session handling, network/offline behavior, storage access, and app operation.

4. How Information Is Used

GOJO uses information to provide authorized parent access, verify account status, connect parents with linked students, display school-provided information, support messaging, show attendance and academic records, display payment history, maintain app security, troubleshoot issues, and respond to support or privacy requests.

5. Accounts and Authorization

Parent accounts may be created, provisioned, or enabled through participating schools or authorized school administrators. Parents may receive credentials or access instructions from the school. Access is associated with the parent's authorized relationship to a student and may depend on school-managed account and guardian records.

Parents should protect their credentials and contact GOJO or their school if they suspect unauthorized access.

6. Student and Children's Information

Student information may be provided by participating schools and may be shown only to authorized parents or guardians with a linked relationship to the student. Access is controlled by account, school, guardian, and student relationship records.

GOJO treats student and children's information with appropriate care. This policy does not claim any certification or approval unless GOJO separately verifies it.

7. Media, Chat, and Communications

The Parent App source includes messaging, announcements, profile images, selected media access, and storage-backed image handling. If a parent chooses to send a message, upload a profile photo, attach an image, or save media, the app may process the content and related metadata needed for that action.

The reviewed Android configuration requests media-library permissions. The reviewed source did not show location, camera capture, microphone recording, advertising, payment processing, or analytics as active Parent App features.

8. Service Providers

The reviewed Parent App source includes Supabase-backed authentication, database, and storage access, and also includes transitional Firebase public configuration/dependencies in the broader app workspace. GOJO may use hosted infrastructure providers to authenticate users, store app data, deliver media, and operate the service.

9. Security

GOJO uses administrative, technical, and organizational measures designed to protect information processed through the Parent App. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, and parents should keep their credentials private.

10. Data Retention

GOJO retains information for as long as needed to provide the Parent App, support participating schools, maintain account access, resolve disputes, preserve security, and meet legal or operational obligations. Some school-provided information may be retained or managed according to school instructions or applicable educational-record requirements.

11. Access, Correction, and Deletion Requests

Parents and guardians may request access, correction, or deletion by contacting GOJO at gojo.education1@gmail.com or by contacting their participating school. School-provisioned accounts may require coordination with the school because the school may control the account relationship, student relationship, or educational records.

12. Privacy Rights

Depending on where you live, you may have rights to request access, correction, deletion, restriction, or a copy of certain personal information. GOJO will review privacy requests according to applicable law and the relevant school relationship.

13. Children's Privacy

The Parent App is intended for authorized parents and guardians, not for children to create independent public accounts. Student information appears in the app because of a school-connected parent or guardian relationship.

14. Changes to This Privacy Policy

GOJO may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When updates are made, GOJO will revise the Last Updated date on this page.
